Footballer Kenni Thompson’s AFC Bournemouth were defeated 6-0 by Women’s Super League side Manchester City in the fourth round of the Women’s FA Cup yesterday [January 18].
Khadija “Bunny” Shaw, Lauren Hemp, Laura Coombs [2] and Vivianne Miedema, who scored twice in the second half, accounted for City’s goals at Snows Stadium, the home of AFC Totton.
Thompson, a Bermuda women’s national team winger, has been in impressive form this season for Bournemouth, who top the FA Women’s National League Southern Premier Division with 30 points from 12 games.
She swapped shirts with City’s Dutch striker Miedema after the tie.
City sit top of the WSL with 33 points from 12 matches.
