Northlands Win Netball Championship Title
Northlands Primary secured their third consecutive Primary School Netball Tournament title with a 4-3 victory over West Pembroke Primary at Bernard Park.
Jher’z Burgess led Northlands with a crucial contribution of goals, while Mila Bryan scored the decisive fourth goal in the closing stages. West Pembroke’s Ariah Tucker scored twice and A’Nylah Tucker added one goal, but the team fell one goal short of forcing extra time.
Northlands advanced to the final after a 6-3 semi-final win over Somersfield Academy. Burgess scored five goals, and Bryan added one. Somersfield’s Gabriella Saunders scored twice and Aleisha Siddiqi once.
West Pembroke reached the final with a 10-8 extra-time victory over Harrington Sound Primary in the other semi-final. Ariah Tucker scored eight goals, and A’Nylah Tucker added two. Harrington Sound’s Aalyasia Watson and Mia White each scored four goals.
The quarter-finals saw Harrington Sound defeat Purvis Primary 9-4. West Pembroke edged BHS 6-4, and Somersfield Academy beat Saltus Grammar 7-5. Northlands recorded a 7-0 win over Warwick Academy to start the knockout stage.
