DHPC Champion Of Champions Day #1 Results
The Driving Horse and Pony Association opened its Champion of Champions harness pony racing season at the National Equestrian Center on Vesey Street, with Bermuda’s leading ponies and drivers competing in a series of heats.
In the first division, Huntinforgold, driven by Tahzii Flood, won Dash 1a in 1:03/3. Somegoldsomewhere, with Teshi Zuill in the sulky, finished second in 1:04/0, while Gold Rush, driven by Darico Clarke, placed third in 1:04/3.
Gold Rush and Clarke returned to win Dash 2a in 1:03/0, the fastest time recorded in the division. Somegoldsomewhere and Zuill finished second in 1:03/1, and Huntinforgold and Flood placed third in 1:04/1.
In the second division, Smart Machine, driven by Candyce Martins, won both heats. The pair took Dash 1b in 1:04/4 and improved to 1:03/0 to secure victory in Dash 2b. Double Time, driven by Xanaje DeGraff, finished second in both races, recording times of 1:05/0 and 1:04/2.
