Yushae DeSilva-Andrade said she is feeling confident and excited as she prepares for a busy boccia season.

DeSilva-Andrade, who finished fourth in the women’s BC1 division at the Paralympic Games in Paris in 2024, has been training since the start of the year with coach Larry Hunt.

Her season begins at the Montreal World Boccia Cup next month, followed by the Birmingham World Boccia Challenger in Alabama in June and the World Boccia Championships in Seoul, South Korea, in August and September.

She will conclude her campaign at the Sao Paulo World Boccia Cup in November.

“We recently put together the training schedule,” DeSilva-Andrade told Bernews.

“I’m really looking forward to competing because we’ve changed a few things and I’m starting to feel more comfortable with my mindset, especially in competition.

“That was something I struggled with for a while, so I’m excited to see what happens. Boccia is a very mental sport, so being in the right headspace can make a big difference.”
