Atlantic Podiatry Marks Third Anniversary
Atlantic Podiatry is marking its third anniversary with extended operating hours, an expanded clinical team, and more.
A spokesperson said, “Atlantic Podiatry is celebrating its third anniversary with the addition of a third podiatrist to its clinical team, extended operating hours, Saturday appointments, and continued investment in Bermuda’s future healthcare workforce.
“Founded by UK-trained podiatrist Matthew Francis, Atlantic Podiatry opened its doors in April 2023 with the aim of improving access to modern, evidence-based foot and lower-limb care in Bermuda. Since then, the Hamilton-based practice has continued to expand its services, team, community outreach, and accessibility for patients across the island.
“The practice now operates Monday to Saturday from 8am to 6pm, making it easier for patients, working professionals, families, athletes and care-home residents to access podiatry care. Atlantic Podiatry also offers 24/7 online booking, and is the only podiatry practice in Bermuda currently offering patients the ability to book appointments online.
“Located on the 5th Floor of Weldon House, 7 Victoria Street, Hamilton, the clinic is accessible for patients seeking both routine and advanced foot care. No referral is needed, and patients can book directly online or by phone.
“Atlantic Podiatry also continues to support affordable access to care through a 35% discount for HIP, Moongate and uninsured patients, as well as a 10% discount for Age Concern members.
“Mr Francis said the practice’s growth over the past three years has been driven by patient demand, a need for improved access, and a wider ambition to raise the profile of podiatry in Bermuda.”
Mr. Francis said, “When we opened Atlantic Podiatry in 2023, the goal was to create a modern podiatry clinic that could support the full spectrum of foot health needs in Bermuda — from routine foot care and painful nails, to diabetic foot checks, wound care, sports injuries, custom orthotics, house calls and care home visits.
“Three years later, we are incredibly proud of how far the practice has come. Extending our opening hours to 8am to 6pm, including Saturdays, and offering online booking has been part of our commitment to making podiatry care more accessible, convenient and patient-centred.”
The spokesperson said, “In 2024, Atlantic Podiatry marked its first anniversary by launching a $47,000 scholarship to support one Bermudian student wishing to study podiatry in the United Kingdom. The scholarship was created to help address the shortage of locally trained podiatrists and to encourage more Bermudians to consider podiatry as a long-term healthcare career.
“Later that year, the practice added Megan Kelly to the team, expanding the clinic’s capacity and strengthening its services in diabetic foot care, wound care, and community-based podiatry.”
Mr. Francis said, “Megan joining the team was a significant step for the practice. Her experience in wound care, diabetes-related foot complications and general podiatric care allowed us to increase access for patients while continuing to support care homes and housebound patients across the island.”
The spokesperson said, “In 2025, Atlantic Podiatry celebrated its second anniversary by expanding its scholarship programme further, adding a second scholarship opportunity and taking the total potential value of the programme to $100,000 for two Bermudians.
“Mr Francis said the scholarship initiative remains one of the practice’s proudest achievements.”
Mr. Francis said, “Bermuda needs more podiatrists. We have an ageing population, high levels of diabetes, an active sporting community, and many people who delay treatment until foot problems become painful or more complicated.
“The scholarship programme is our way of investing directly in Bermuda’s healthcare future. We do not just want to provide podiatry care today — we want to help train the next generation of Bermudian podiatrists for tomorrow.”
The spokesperson said, “Now, in 2026, Atlantic Podiatry has marked its third anniversary by welcoming its third podiatrist, Yaw Nimoh, who brings a specialist interest in sports podiatry, musculoskeletal care, injury prevention and rehabilitation.
“Mr Nimoh’s arrival allows Atlantic Podiatry to further expand its sports and exercise podiatry services, including gait analysis, custom orthotics, sports injury assessment, exercise-based rehabilitation, injectable therapies and tailored treatment plans for active patients.”
Mr. Francis said, “Yaw joining the team is another major step forward. He brings extensive experience and a real passion for sports podiatry and MSK care. That means we can now offer an even more comprehensive service to runners, footballers, netballers, gym users, school athletes, weekend warriors and anyone struggling with foot, ankle, heel, knee or lower-limb pain.
“Podiatry is not just about toenails. It is about movement, mobility, independence, wound prevention, sports performance, pain reduction and keeping people active. Yaw’s arrival helps us strengthen that message.”
The spokesperson said, “Atlantic Podiatry says the expansion reflects the growing demand for podiatry services in Bermuda, particularly across diabetes care, senior foot health, sports injuries, orthotics and preventive treatment.
“The practice currently provides clinic-based appointments, house calls, care home visits, diabetic foot checks, wound care, nail surgery, custom orthotics, shockwave therapy, sports podiatry and general foot health services.
“Mr Francis said one of the most important messages for the public is that patients do not need to wait until a foot problem becomes severe before seeking help.”
Mr. Francis said, “Many foot problems are easier, quicker and less costly to treat when they are addressed early. Whether it is heel pain, an ingrown toenail, a diabetic foot concern, a wound, a sports injury, a painful corn, or simply difficulty managing your feet, podiatry can make a significant difference.”
The spokesperson said, “The practice also continues to focus on community outreach, including education, radio appearances, health fairs, sports partnerships, care home services and public awareness campaigns.
“Mr Francis said the first three years have reinforced how much need there is for podiatry in Bermuda.”
Mr. Francis said, “We are extremely grateful to our patients, our team, our community partners and everyone who has supported Atlantic Podiatry since we opened.
“From opening the clinic in 2023, launching the first scholarship in 2024, expanding that scholarship in 2025, and now adding Yaw to the team in 2026, every step has been about building something sustainable for Bermuda.
“Our message remains simple: when it comes to foot care, we care — and at Atlantic Podiatry, we fix feet.”
The spokesperson said, “Atlantic Podiatry is located on the 5th Floor of Weldon House, 7 Victoria Street, Hamilton. The practice is open Monday to Saturday, 8am to 6pm.
“Patients can book appointments online at www.atlanticpodiatry.bm or call 533-2508. No referral is needed.”
