Premier Paula Cox is currently overseas participating in the annual Overseas Territories Consultative Council (OTCC) meeting in London, and today [Nov 15] officially opened the Department of Civil Aviation’s London office.

Earlier today, Premier Cox joined the Governor, who is also in attendance at the OTCC meetings, and the Director of the Department of Civil Aviation (DCA) Thomas Dunstan in officially opening the Department of Civil Aviation’s satellite office which is co-located within the Bermuda Government’s existing London Office.

The DCA Satellite Office will focus primarily on private and corporate non-AOC aircraft owners based worldwide, and on the Article 83 bis contracts for commercially-operated aircraft in Russia, Azerbaijan and Uzbekistan. The office will have a small team consisting of a contractor to carry out an airworthiness inspection function and general administration.

Government says “This initiative is a major platform in the implementation of the Department’s strategic plan and will aid in strengthening the delivery of service to our international clients.”

Earlier this year, Bermuda’s lucrative aircraft registry had come under scruntiny, with the UK appearing to be looking closely at the practice, especially the Bermuda registered aircraft that are in use by Russian airlines

I am so happy that finally we have a Premier that will do something for Bermuda and her people, instead of spending money for needless trips, ie first class all the way, and contries that have no desire to visit Bermuda. Dr. Brown was a total waste of man-power and money. Glad the trash is gone.

Premier Cox I suport you 100%. Please do the people and Bermuda good!!!!

    Love you XO

If you ask me any premier of any country should travel first class!! For crying out loud they are the premier of your country!!! you should want them in first class!! look at the rest of the countries all over the world.. the prime minister, governer, premier, president (head of country) most of them have there own planes!!!! Look at the duchess who just came down.. She flew in on a huge BA plane with like 5 or 6 other people!! She gets her own plane! I dont here london crying about it.. Wake up people … Important people deserve important treatment

    • LOL says:

So S do you support the 1billion dollar debt we are now in the first class tickets was only a small part of the money wasted. We still have like 800k still not accounted for. I do agree thought the Premier should have been allowed to fly first class. As for the UK no worrying about the travel habits of their royalty I chalk that up to two reasons 1. they have pride in their country and royalty and 2. They have a much larger tax base…..

      LOL
