Christmas: Extended Post Office Hours

December 22, 2010

christmas-cardsThe Ministry of Economy, Trade and Industry would like to advise that “the Bermuda Post Office has today received several large consignments of parcels from overseas and anticipates receiving several more large consignments over the next few days. This late influx of parcels is due to the recent severe global weather conditions which has disrupted airline traffic both in the U.K. and the U.S.”

Officials say “In order to clear the backlog of parcels and to avoid any disappointment to its customers in the run up to the holiday season, all post offices will remain open with full counter service until 7:00 pm on Thursday, December 23, 2010.”

On Christmas Eve, Friday, December 24, all post offices will open an hour earlier at 7:00 am. and close for the Christmas holiday at 5 p.m., and reopen for business on Wednesday, 29 December at 8 a.m. Customers are encouraged to take advantage of the extra opening hours to collect their packages.
