KPMG Gives Back To Bermuda Community

Corporate volunteering is an integral part of the KPMG corporate responsibility strategy in Bermuda, the company said.

And aside from charitable undertakings individual employees are encouraged to participate in on an ongoing basis, every year the company sets aside a day for the firm to work with the local community.

Employees of the Bermuda offices of the auditing and professional services giant took part in KPMG’s “Make A Difference Day” on Friday [Nov.18].

They worked on projects at the Harbour Light Facility on King Street, the North Street Citadel and the Botanical Gardens.

Highlights from the day included:

  • All areas of the Harbour Light facility were successfully renovated with painting and new shelving being completed and installed in the food bank area, and new shelving being built for sorting clothes for the thrift shop.
  •  The thrift shop was completely cleaned and overhauled with new bins being installed and a sagging roof fixed.
  • The kitchen at the feeding centre at the North Street Citadel was cleaned, painted and renovated.
  • The gift giving centre at the Botanical Gardens was prepared and decorated and the donated food station was set up and organized.

Over 100 staff took part in this year’s event and KPMG said the firm was happy to have helped make a difference through its charity day in Bermuda.

Neil Patterson, managing partner at KPMG in Bermuda thanked the staff for their hard work and efforts throughout the day during a reception that was held at the Daylesford Theatre after the event.

The Salvation Army’s Major Wayne Loveless thanked the KPMG group to for their efforts across the various locations.
