Round 2: Pompano Golf Tournament
After a slight rain delay yesterday [Mar.5], the couples were rewarded with a calm and beautiful second round at Port Royal.
TEAM NET DIVISION – “Dark n Stormy Flight”
Tim and Lynn Meeker from Wilmington, NC recorded a second successive under par round today with a 4 under 67 at Port Royal giving them a two day total of 11 under par 130 and a share of the lead, however it was Dan and Julie Colclaser, also from Wilmington, NC who stole the show with a brilliant 8 under par 63, no doubt good enough to put them into a share of the lead at 11 under 130, making for an exciting race to the finish line. One shot back is the couple from Palm Coast, FL; Bill & Stephanie Susetka on 10 under 131 overall after they added their best of the week, a 7 under 64.
TEAM NET DIVISION – “Rum Swizzle Flight”
Joe and Jane Gannon from Chapel Hill, NC jump into the lead in their division after posting a 6 under 65 in their second round giving them a two day total of 2 under and 139 overall. Two shots back at E, 141 is another couple from Chapel Hill, NC; Hayes and Annie Shimp after their 5 under 66 today. This division will remain close until the end as there are at least 4 other couple’s within striking distance.
TEAM GROSS DIVISION
Palm Coat, FL residents Bill & Stephanie Susetka and Michael & Susan Egan are tied in the gross division at 8 over par, 149. Dan & Julie Colclaser, Wilmington, NC are only one back on 9 over 150. Two other couple’s are within striking distance and can make for an exciting race to the Gross title.
Prizes will be awarded in the gross and net division. Due to popular demand the tournament, the couples have been placed into two flights based on their combined index. ‘A” Dark n Stormy Flight and the “B” Rum Swizzle Flight.
The event has also been increased to a four day tournament. The couple’s will enjoy a rest day today before continuing their third round at Riddell’s Bay on Wednesday starting at 9am. The format today is a 2 ball modified scramble.
