BBFS Provide Free Coaching To Preschool Kids

June 14, 2012

Bermuda’s Brazilian Football School [BBFS] and the Warwick Preschool [WPS] entered into an partnership agreement at the end of 2011 to promote football and healthy lifestyles for the students at WPS.

BBFS provided 55 minutes of fun based drills and interaction via the coaching of Jermaine [Speedy] Smith, Cal Blankendal and Shaquille Bean.

Each session saw forty 4-year-olds [male & female] enjoy their outdoor activity via the BBFS Mini Brazilians programme, in a non competitive environment.

A BBFS spokesperson said, “The core focus of the program was to provide the male students with male mentors/coaches at no charge to the school or students. All of the equipment and coaching hours was donated by BBFS as part of our Life-skills charter.

“BBFS closed out the pilot programme with a special guest. Adrian Tucker, Head of goal-keeping at Swansea FC in the English Premier League, led the 45 minute session.

“Each participating student was encouraged to wear their favorite jersey which ranged from Manchester United, Barcelona, AC Milan, Manchester City, Arsenal to name a few. At the end of the session the staff and students of WPS awarded the BBFS coaches with a certificate as a token of their appreciation.

“BBFS wishes to thank Mr. Adrian Tucker of Swansea FC (EPL), Mrs. Dill and staff of the WPS and Peter Wilson, who was the initial contact between WPS and BBFS.

“BBFS will return at the start of the 2012/13 school year and will aim to deliver more sessions to the wonderful students of WPS. Each student of WPS will receive a certificate recognizing their participation in the programme”.
