Police Investigating ‘Suspicious’ Death In Pembroke

[Updated with video] Police responded to Point Shares in Pembroke tonight [June 1] after receiving reports of a “lifeless female body.” Police said the “incident at this time is being treated as suspicious.”

Forensic officers are on the scene, and police are paying particular attention to a small building along the side of the road.

The Bermuda Fire Service have also attended. Police officers have the area blocked off and are asking residents if they have noticed anything unusual in the neighborhood recently. Area residents gathered are expressing shock and dismay at the news.

There were at least a dozen vehicles backed up, as police continued to block the scene and area residents were restricted from going home. At approximately 9.30pm, police started allowing one lane of traffic, getting resident’s names and contact details before allowing them through.

Details are limited, however we will update as able. A police spokesperson said at this time the incident is being treated as “suspicious”, and inquiries are underway.

Around 5:45pm on Friday, June 1st police and first responders were dispatched to a report of a body found at a Point Shares Road, Pembroke premises.

The lifeless body of a female has since been recovered from the scene and inquiries are underway. No further information regarding the deceased will be given until the next of kin has been notified.

The Bermuda Police Service apologizes for any inconvenience to area residents and members of the public traveling through the neighborhood as officers conduct their inquiries.

The incident is being treated as suspicious at this time and anyone with any information is encouraged to contact the Serious Crime Unit on 295-0011.

Update June 2, 2pm: Police maintained watch over the area last night, and continue to guard it as of this afternoon. Crime scene tape can be seen strung all around the various sides of the surrounding property.
