Two People Arrested For DUI After Accidents

Two people were arrested on Saturday [Jan 12] on suspicion of impaired driving following two separate accidents.

Around 1:30am on Saturday, police officers attended a collision near the junction of Middle Road and North Shore Road in Smith’s parish involving a car and a SUV.

Both vehicles received extensive front end damage, there were no reported injuries however the car driver — a 28 year old Southampton man — was arrested on suspicion of impaired driving and the police said a court appearance is anticipated in due course.

Around 12:30am on Saturday, police officers and first responders attended a single vehicle motorcycle collision on Warwick Lane in Warwick near the junction with Warwick Close. A 29 year old Southampton man and a 24 year old Southampton man apparently involved in the collision were located at the scene with injuries.

The 29 year old man was taken to KEMH via ambulance, treated and later released. The 24 year old man sustained relatively minor injuries and was arrested on suspicion of impaired driving.
