Hockey: Ravens, Budgies Advance To Finals

The semi finals of Women’s Field Hockey Division took place this weekend, with the Ravens One defeating the Swallows in a penalty shoot out to advance to the finals, while the Budgies One defeated the Ravens Two to claim the other finals berth.

Swallows 3 (2) Ravens One 3 (0)

With a place in the finals on the line, the Ravens took the lead in the 2nd minute when Carolyn Soares scored a Field Goal. Jennifer Hale equalized for the Swallows scoring from a Penalty Corner in the 31st minute. Kelli Nusum put the Swallows in front in the 34th minute scoring from a Penalty Corner, and then Marylyn Terry doubled the Swallows lead in the 37th minute scoring a Field Goal.

Katie Masters pulled a goal back got the Ravens in the 53rd minute scoring from a Penalty Corner and then Georgia Harris drew the Ravens level in the 66th minute scoring from a Penalty Corner. The score remained 3 – 3 after full time and extra time the Ravens then won in a Penalty Shoot Out to advance to finals.

Budgies One 3 Ravens Two 1

The Ravens took the lead in the 14th minute when Juliette Ferrari-McComb scored a Field Goal, however Jasmine Patterson Budgies equalized for the Budgies scoring a Penalty Stroke in the 26th minute. Patterson then put the Budgies ahead in the 44th minute scoring a Field Goal, Patterson completed her hat-trick with a Field Goal in the 59th minute as the Budgies advanced to the Finals.

Longtails 0 Bluebirds 2

In regular action, the Bluebirds went ahead on a Field Goal in the 17th minute off the stick of Andrea Cann, ten minutes later Kris Soares doubled the Bluebirds lead scoring from a Penalty Corner as the Bluebirds defeated the Longtails 2 – 0.
