Slideshow: PGA Grand Slam Of Golf Pro-Am
The 31st PGA Grand Slam of Golf kicked off at the Port Royal Golf Course today [Oct 14] with Bermuda welcoming Adam Scott, the 2013 Masters Champion, Justin Rose, the 2013 U.S. Open Champion, Jason Dufner, the 2013 PGA Champion and Padraig Harrington, the 2012 PGA Grand Slam of Golf Champion.
The Grand Slam Pro-Am was held today leading up to the main competition which will see the four players vie for their share of the $1.35 million purse. The winner will be receiving $600,000; second place $300,000; third place $250,000; and fourth place $200,000.
The Pro-Am gives fans an opportunity to see the year’s best golfers in a relaxed setting playing alongside local and international celebrities including a repeat visitor, West Indies cricket sensation Brian Lara. Spectators are permitted to request autographs, take pictures, and in some cases, chat with participants.
The PGA Grand Slam of Golf was established in 1979 and has grown from an 18-hole, single-day event to a 36-hole annual showdown that matches professional golf’s best against each other.
