August 23, 2014

The Movies in the Square scheduled for this evening [Aug 23] in St. George’s and the PLP Back to School Fun-Day which was scheduled to be held at Victor Scott Primary School this afternoon have both been postponed due to the inclement weather, which has prompted the Bermuda Weather Service to issue a Thunderstorm Advisory for today.

In addition, the Bermuda Anglers Club Junior Fishing Tournament which was scheduled for tomorrow has also been postponed due to the weather.

The PLP Back To School Fun Day will now be held on Saturday September 6th from 12:00pm – 4:00pm, while the Junior Fishing Tournament will now be held on Sunday 31 August.

Well its obvious that the OBA can’t even get the weather right. PLP wants to have a community event and OBA just has to spoil it by giving us wind and thunderstorms all weekend.

    Typical OBA failure.

The Union won’t be taking this lightly I can tell you.

Back to work, lights just dimmed a bit, I think one of the guys slowed down his pace on the bike.

One more cup of ganja tea this morning alongside my Financial Times

  3. We Are Not Amused! says:

    Brainwashing

  4. Proud2bbermudian says:

Is the OBA having any back to school drives, fun days. ANY COMMUNITY functions. Anything. 1 thing. Something. I’ve tried for months reaching out to my representatives and no luck! If they having something I could have a quick chat at the engagement.

    • Kunta says:

Their interest is with de Business and Financial Sector and de ex-patriots !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  5. Just a matter of time says:

‘Interesting’ comments. At least they are trying to go out into the community connecting with the people. Is the OBA doing that? CAN they do that? Do they WANT to do that? HAVE they done that?
    .

    • Triangle Drifter says:

Apparently they have. They got themselves elected didn’t they? How many complaints have there been of the PLP never showing up in the neighbourhood.

The PLP is out doing what they do best. Party, party, party. Meanwhile the OBA is quietly going about the business of repairing damage done after 14 years of party, party, party.

      • Flush It says:

Hey you the same bie that gave 110% behind the last leader and chairman of the OBA. Hmm where did that get you or should I ask where did they go?

      • Flush It says:

The only reason the OBA got elected is because people like me stayed away that day. Wait till next election race head!! People like you do nothing but harm to the OBA and you’re to stuck on stupid to realize it.

      • mixitup says:

Elected by the lies and deceit that continue today. I can count 10 personal friends who admit they made a grave error voting this OBA into power.

        • Creamy says:

I doubt you have 10 personal friends.

        • Toodle-oo says:

And do you think they would have had no regrets voting back in the PLP who thanks to their ineptitude we all now owe more than $40,000 each to government and we’re still no better off at all ? Socially or otherwise .

Yeah , I bet you’ve got 10 friends who all told you how they used to vote something else and went OBA last time. I’m sure you want us to believe that even you voted OBA .

      • OBA what business , they are trying to find ways to keep what really happened to that $300,000 . Hidden
PLP IS DOING AND HAS ALWAYS DONE EVERYTHING THEY CAN TO REACH OUT AND HELP ANYWAY THEY CAN !!!!!! OBA is for themselves .. I stay in town I haven’t seen no one from the OBA in my hood yet , but the PLP I always see Mr Weeks passing through he stops ,talks and shakes hands with this community most of all it’s genuine straight from the heart

        • Charles says:

          There’s a HUGE difference between 300k and 800m.
Any sign of it by the way?
          No?
Planning ‘pawtees’ higher on the plp agenda?
Congratulations. Your post indicates you’ve achieved the goal of your nom de plume!

        • tahe out the trash says:

That $300,000.00 didn`t come out of any Government dept. or fund did it !! You have been brainwashed over the last 14 years. Where is you concern of what went missing under the plp Government ?

      • Kunta says:

@ Triangle Dreamer, they got elected because their Propaganda Trickery worked on de disillusioned voters who couldn’t see de forest for de trees. Now they’re kicking themselves in de @$$.
Blacks in Bermuda have always been duped by their Oppressors, just look at Mazumbo’s daughters !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  6. Independent says:

More of the Opposition trying to get votes. Mother Nature saw right through it!

    • Varied says:

Didn’t realize the Young Anglers tournament and Movies in the Square were PLP propoganda mechanisms.

Sigh. Once again, everything becomes an opportunity for (paid?) ‘bloggers’ to smackdown their political opponents. What is wrong with people?

  7. Terry says:

    Typical PLP propaganda.
The OBA have much on their plate besides a kiddy event.
Running the Country, Security, Finance, Government Service, dealing with Unions, Tourism, collecting taxes, ………ah screw it.

    I need a rum.

    • Real Talk says:

And they aint done crap right since for the Bl–k voters. Lets be honest they don’t have to convince a certain group of people, they swing ubp, bda and oba all the time. They know which group they need to convince, say it’s not SO!!!

  8. Just a matter of time says:

“The OBA have much more on their plate besides a kiddy event”. Yup that pretty much describes them in a nutshell. Connecting with the people of this country is far less important even if they are ‘kiddys’. Apparently they can’t walk and chew at the same time. They simply don’t get it. I agree with Flush It. I know many who stayed home who now regret not voting. The OBA have shown their true colours early after the election up to now. People will remember.

  9. Tricks are for Kids says:

No way…..are you all serious???..a fun day event for CHILDREN garners political comments…#takeatleastonedayoff…

  10. Coffee says:

That’s the beauty of belonging under the OBA/UBP umbrella . Accessibility past Paynters road and Queens Cove are guaranteed to the chosen few . Fun days and the best of everything Bermuda has to offer is available every weekend to those kids and young adults of the elite few who qualify for membership .
Never will the UBP/OBA announce inclusivity to the general public beyond SAGE or Public Reforms Discussions with the chamber of commerce and limited sound bites to the Unions .

  11. Independent says:

Maybe the OBA could bring in Justin Bieber to entertain the kids. The PLP brought in Beyonce! Oops,I forgot that would not be money well spent, that’s why our children have that big debt they have to pay!
