Bermuda Hospitality Institute’s annual fundraiser, “Bermuda’s Rising Chef of the Year Competition” has postponed the start of the event due to unexpected delays caused by Hurricane Gonzalo.

Semi-final #1 which was due to take place on Monday 20th October will be held on Monday 27th October and Semi-final #2 which was due to take place on Tuesday 21st October will be held on Tuesday 28th October. The semi finals scheduled for Thursday 23rd October and Friday 24th October will proceed as scheduled. The finals will be held on Tuesday 4th November.

There are still a few tickets left for the competition which begins at 6pm and can be purchased at International Imports on Par-la-Ville road in Hamilton.

“We are thankful for the support of our major sponsors Butterfield & Vallis, Lindo’s Family Foods, Gosling’s Limited & International Imports,” said BHI Executive Director Malika Musson. “Their support ensures 100% of the proceeds raise funds for BHI’s educational Hospitality programs.”

The competition features a mystery basket format and was created to highlight the talent and dedication of the Island’s culinary professionals wherever they come from, as all play a role in defining and showcasing the Island’s culinary offerings to locals and visitors alike.
