Live Updates: Bermuda Defeat Bahamas 3-0

[Updated] Following a slow start to the match, the Bermuda squad came alive in the last few minutes, giving the home crowd a big show with three late goals and ensuring the home team’s victory.

Nahki Wells opened the scoring in the 79th minute, with Tyrell Burgess making it 2-0 in the 82nd minute, before Wells struck once more in the 87th minute to give Bermuda the 3-0 victory.

Bermuda now advance to the second round with an 8-0 aggregate win, and will take on Guatamala.

[Original story] The Bermuda national football team is set to continue their 2018 FIFA World Cup Russia qualifying campaign, with today’s [Mar 29] match against the Bahamas set to kick off at 3.00pm in front of a sold out crowd.

This will be the second time the two teams match up, following after Bermuda’s 5-0 defeat of the Bahamas on March 25th, which saw goals from Dante Leverock, Nahki Wells, Zeiko Lewis and two from Justin Donawa.

Bermuda’s national team includes Nahki Wells, Freddy Hall, Dale Eve, Jarreau Hayward, Tyrell Burgess, Jaylen Harvey, Dante’ Leverock, Jaylon Bather, Keshien Bean, Drewondae Bascome, Cecoy Robinson, Mauriq Hill, Tre Ming, Marco Warren, Zeiko Lewis, Jahnai Raynor, Reggie Lambe, Justin Donawa, Rai Simons and Jonte Smith.

The Standby Players are Antwan Russell, Donte Brangman, Lejaun Simmons, Taurean Manders, Casey Castle, Stefan Dill, Terrance Webb and William White; and the coach is Andrew Bascome.

    Great day, atmosphere was cool, but what was with all the empty seats?

    Literally hundreds at the North end of the bleachers particularly. BFA, what’s that all about?

      Probably because of everyone who was standing. Those seats would have been full if everyone had used them. No worries – great atmosphere and result.
