Sailing Vessel Skipper Hospitalized On Arrival

The skipper of an arriving sailing vessel was transported by ambulance to hospital on Saturday morning [April 4], after suffering from “gastric problems”. The sailboat remains berthed at Ordnance Island in St. George’s.

A Bermuda Maritime Operations Centre spokesperson said, “On Saturday 4th April 9.52am, Bermuda Maritime Operations Centre organised an ambulance for the skipper of arriving 152ft UK registered sailing vessel Pink Gin who was suffering gastric problems.

“The casualty was subsequently transferred from the yacht’s berth at Ordnance Island St George’s to King Edward VII Memorial Hospital.”
