April 7, 2015

Bermuda’s Madelyn Moore was recently awarded the gold medal for the 100 free at the Carifta Swimming Championships in Barbados, where Bermuda’s top junior swimmers are competing against athletes from 20 countries in the region.

After bending to be awarded the medal, Madelyn and her fellow athletes turned to face the flags of the three nations represented, with Bermuda’s flag flying in the top position, reserved for gold medal winners.

The young swimmer is one of a few local athletes who have won Carifta medals this year, with Bermuda’s swim team notching up 15 medal wins so far in the  2015 Carifta Swimming Championships in Barbados, while the island’s track and field athletes have won three medals at the Carifta Track & Field Championships taking place in St. Kitts.
