“Liberty Of The Seas” Makes Inaugural Visit
Premier Michael Dunkley and Minister of Tourism Development and Transport Shawn Crockwell welcomed the Liberty of the Seas when it made its inaugural visit to Bermuda.
The ship arrived on Friday, May 8th and a short ceremony was held on Saturday, May 9th onboard the ship to commemorate the occasion with a traditional maritime plaque exchange, which is customary when new vessels visit a port for the first time.
The Liberty of the Seas, owned by Royal Caribbean International [RCI], departed at 4 p.m. on Saturday, May 9th.
During brief welcoming remarks, the Minister of Tourism Development and Transport, Shawn Crockwell said: “This ship is simply stunning and definitely lives up to its reputation – designed with pure pleasure in mind. She features an abundance of phenomenal onboard experiences; there is something here for everyone.”

“She is beautiful and we are delighted that you chose Bermuda as a destination this summer, giving your guests an opportunity to experience our beauty, our charm and the warmth and friendliness of our people,” added Minister Crockwell.
The 3894 passenger cruise ship will make 21 visits to Bermuda this summer, and is expected to transport roughly 81,000 visitors in total to Bermuda in 2015.
Wow!81,000 visitors will certainly leave with an impression; lets just pray it’s the right impression…
A drop in the bucket compared to our cousins to the South of us.
81k visitors certainly is a blessing. Let’s hope they can get a bus.
Since all we have is death trap scooters.
Since we choose not to rent cars.
Since we have taxis that don’t show.
Buses would be the preferred method of getting around.
But our poorly bus drivers are still at home with that awful tummy bug -hope they get well soon.
Being the Government wants to give the money to their Friends and Family instead of paying for overtime then we have the mess that we’re in, we never had a mess on this scale when de other guys were in.
LOL
What an idiot you are.
Why did so many gov people have to attend this event? There is Deff no need for that amount of people but i know what done it. They got a free meal lol.
Plus they have to keep up with the Photo Opp % rate.
Captain Tao! The best Captain ever!
