Photos & Results: YAO Cal Ripken Baseball

The CUBS defeated the Cardinals 14-6 at Kindley Field in the latest round of YAO Cal Ripken baseball games.

CUBS scored seven runs in the third to break open a close game up to that point. An RBI triple by Alex Downey, a three-run home run by Jannis Roberts and a two-run single by Ty Pereira put the Cubs up to stay.

Sam Resnik led all hitters with a perfect 3-3 day at the plate to pace CUBS. He singled in the first, third and tripled in the fifth inning. The Cardinals were led by strong pitching by Matt Ingleman and a triple play by the Cardinals highlighted the game. Kaelin Paynter pitched a strong 3 2/3 innings, with Resnik coming on in the 6th to close it out.

Braves defeated the Orioles 4-0 in a Pitchers Dual, behind strong pitching from Liam McCue, the Orioles held the Braves to 1 run through 4 innings. The Orioles also had several defensive web gems by second baseman Wyatt Woloshyn. The Braves used a trio of pitchers, Micaiah Furbert, Cam Morris and Bobby Bart to shutout the Orioles.

The Braves broke through in the bottom of the 5th with 3 runs led by a key hit from Aidan Washington and a game breaking double by Alex Southern that scored Washington and Furbert.
