Photos: America’s Cup Opening Night Underway
[Updated] The America’s Cup festivities have kicked off, with the “Bermuda Festival and Event Village” opening up on Front Street this evening [Oct 16].
The Bermuda Festival and Event Village will be open to the public daily, and features dozens of exhibitors, food vendors, sailing, live commentary, fireworks, sailor Dock Out Show, AC talk show, a concert, kid activities, entertainers and more.
The photos below were taken at around 5.30pm as the event was just getting underway, and people are continuing to arrive. We will have additional coverage of the festivities later on.

Obviously you were not there last night, last night was beautiful seeing a community participating together. Hotels are full, restaurants are to capacity, no one has said this will solve everything, but if we act properly it can generate tourists to return. Everyone was grateful and kind last night, not sure where you were when we lost money on Beyoncé and the Love fest, and shall I bring up 800 million and the monstrosity on South shore that sold one unit!!!,
The atmosphere was amazing on Front Street this evening. A real sense of Bermudian hospitality and togetherness. It was wonderful.
Agreed. We are on the world stage and we shined last night. I hope and pray that all participants and guests feel the Bermuda love. And may it help to bring tourism and all manner of business to our shores.

What an amazing evening! Front Street was alive, the vendors were fabulous, I haven’t seen that many people in one place all having fun in along time. Congradulations Bermuda, and Thank you to all who worked endless hours to make it happen!

Tourists spending big money in Bermuda and having an amazing experience. For those of us who were there this was Harbor Nights on steroids.Friendly, happy people enjoying a first class event. Well done Bermuda!!
