Photos: America’s Cup World Series Festivities

October 17, 2015

While some sailing fans may have been left disappointed by the cancellation of today’s [Oct 17] America’s Cup racing, there were numerous people out enjoying themselves at the Louis Vuitton America’s Cup World Series, with large crowds to be seen across Front Street.

The Bermuda Festival and Event Village is offering dozens of vendors and various events, including a skydiving display this afternoon which involved two men jumping out of a helicopter and splashing down in the water. You can see a photo gallery from last night’s Opening Ceremony here, and all our coverage of the America’s Cup here.

Incredible vibe – even though the breeze was a disappointment today, the teams still put on a classy exhibition so that we weren’t completely left out. Mother Nature is supposed to deliver tomorrow and they should have a great day out sailing.

Sadly with 1/2 an inch of rain tonight it will make festivities a bit damp. But kudos to all those out there and those who are making this lead-up to the big 2017 event a big success!

Thanks to all who are participating, volunteering and those who show up just because!

This is definitely the vibe we need in Bermuda! Makes everyone feel like something is happening.

Bermudians from all walks of life having a great time…..young old black white ..the only thing missing was any PLP politicians so I guess that is why you hit dislike….it would be great to do this more often…..great to see Front Street so alive and the 3 young boys playing in front of Chewstick were terrific…..

A thousand boats in the Great Sound and Hamilton Harbour $100.00
Everyone having a blast yesterday even with no wind or race $100.00
Hundreds at a wet concert last night jamming. $100.00

The PLP staying away from the America`s Cup,,,,,,, ” Disappointing”
