Devonshire Parish Council Meeting On Jan 21

January 8, 2016

The Devonshire Parish Council is inviting Devonshire residents to come out to a public meeting on Thursday, January 21 at 6.30pm at the Prospect Primary School Auditorium, covering several aspects of the Public Access to Information Act [PATI] and access to information in general

The speaker for the evening will be Bermuda’s first Information Commissioner and Devonshire resident Gitanjali S. Gutierrez. The meeting is expected to last approximately two hours, with light refreshments and door prizes available.

A spokesperson said, “We are inviting Devonshire residents to hear Ms. Gutierrez tell us a little about herself and to let us know in plain, easy to understand language about PATI; what and where is the Information Commissioner’s Office; what is involved in the role of Information Commissioner; what is the process for getting access to public information; and why residents should want to know how to effectively use this service.

“Although the presentation will be more relevant to high school students, college students, and adult residents, you are welcome to bring your family along and make it a family affair.”
