Eastern Counties Relay Classic Set For Jan 31

The Eastern Counties Relay Classic, being held in conjunction with Swan’s Running Club, is set for Sunday, January 31, beginning at 8.30am.

The event’s course will run from St. David’s Club to Stocks Point, leave St. David’s Cricket Club and turn left on to Great Bay Rd. to St. David’s Rd, turn left on to Pepper Hall Rd [past Clearwater Middle School] then down the hill and turn right on to Southside Rd, then turn left on to St. David’s Rd. to Stocks Point for the first handover.

The course will then run from Stocks Point to Baileys Bay Club, leaving Stocks Point and continuing west on St. David’s Rd. to the Round-a bout at #1 gate. Proceed west on to Kindley Field Rd. then right on to the Causeway; up Blue Hole Hill to North Shore Rd. turning right on to Coney Island Rd.; then right onto Ducks Puddle Drive to Baileys Bay Club for the second handover.

From there, the course runs from Baileys Bay Club to Cleveland County Club, leaving Baileys Bay Club along Ducks Puddle Drive, turning left on to Coney Island Rd, then left onto North Shore Rd, heading east to the Round-a-bout. Turn right onto Wilkinson Avenue, continuing on Harrington Sound Rd. to the Cleveland Country Club for the third handover.

Finally, the course will run from Cleveland County Club to Flatts Field, leaving Cleveland County Club heading west on Harrington Sound Rd, then turning left onto Middle Road and left on to Fielders Lane to Flatts Field.

Awards and prizes for the event will include medals for the first, second, and third place finishers on the male team, female team, mixed team, and youth team, as well as an award for the first place Eastern County Cricket Club team, while the overall first place team will get tickets for all three Senior County Games, and the overall second and third place teams will get tickets for one senior county game of choice.

The entry fee is $120 per team of four [$30 per person], with registration available online; entry forms are also available at Sportseller in Washington Mall, Cleveland County, Bailey’s Bay and St. David’s Cricket Club.

Completed entry forms must be returned by 4.30pm on Friday, January 29 to the Sportseller; all cheques should be made payable to Swan’s Running Club. Race numbers should be picked up on Saturday, January 30 between 1.00pm and 3.00pm at the Harrington Workmen’s Club; late registration will only be accepted at number pickup and will cost an additional $5.
