  1. Hmmm..... says:

This is happening too often now…

    • BLOW IN says:

REAL BERMUDIANS doing a job with no outside opposition , on this they have a monopoly .

      • inna says:

LOL thanks for the laugh “blow out”!!

        • Raymond Ray says:

Here we go again…”Mr Caines said that both males were wearing full faced helmets and dark coloured clothing.”Band the, (dark) visors a.s.a.p.!

          • Jus' Wonderin' says:

Who’s going to refund guys for helmets if they ban them?! GTFOH!

            • Hurricane says:

@ Jus Wonderin, you can’t be serious,

          • JAWS says:

They don’t need to band dark helmets. These roaches will use a scarf and large shades. Make it so people have to remove helmets when they get off their bikes. Even introduce some friendly commercials and radio adverts. The island needs to get behind this idea and work together on this initiative.

            • Seriously says:

So you think someone who is about to commit an armed robbery is worried about a law saying you can’t wear a visor?
I don’t think they are bothered about any laws.

              • Derek A. G. Jones says:

@ Seriously, you are missing the point. It’s obvious a criminal will try to obscure their faces when committing a robbery but if everyone else isn’t wearing a helmet then they will stand out and people will have a chance of acting appropriately.

          • neutral says:

            Ummmm

          • Free Thinker says:

Spoken like a typical politician, knee jerk reaction based in ignorance and no wisdom. There are many tool available to the robber, full face helmets are just one of them. Take that tool and they will use another, you’d be chasing a moving target. Stop focusing on the symptoms and deal with the causes. If you don’t, Bermuda will end up like every other country who have been faced with crime in it’s infancy and instead of dealing with the problems, they dealt with the symptom. The sad things is, wisdomless politicians will ban the visors while leaving the underlying problems to flourish. People will start getting killed during these robberies, the underlying problems at this point, will be difficult to be addressed because the community will be up in arms demanding blood. It will be blood for blood and at this point, we have arrived at the point of no return. We will end up like every other jurisdiction who failed to address the underlying problems, faced by their societies. All because brain dead politicians did not have the wisdom needed to address the problems.

    • Terry says:

After reading your short comment I thought it was well intended.
      It is.
      All likes and no dislikes.

I thought I would respond as to why.

      Compliant.

Thanks for the kick in the ass.
      Some will get it.
      Shalom.

  2. I heart 441 says:

Copycats or serial robbers on the loose! Someone call Scotland Yard or F.B.I

  3. ROGER LAMBERT says:

HOPE THEY MAKE A MISTAKE & ARE CAUGHT SOOOOOON, THEN AS IT SEEMS SO EASY TO ROB, WE DON’T GET COPYCATS.

  4. Warwick Pond skink says:

I don’t think this one is a copy cat as it was raining and you know su Bermuda byes don’t vork in de rain!!!

  5. Bdaluv says:

Our police offices here are useless! And the laws suck. These guys are not scared of anyone. Sad they target small business, I agree with mr. Hunt maybe the business need to also carry arms to protect themselves from these idiots because the police are useless.

    • observer says:

so u expect police to be at every business to prevent robberies

    • I heart 441 says:

If Police officers can predict when a crime is about to happen, then our unemployment rate will skyrocket. You my friend is a …….!

    • Tick Tock says:

You do know that the OBA let go a number of Police Officers the other day since they said we had no money$$$$$$$, but yet the same OBA Government has a guarantee up to $165 million for the Morgans Point Hotel project. Wait a sec I thought we had no money!!!

You don’t think these goons that are committing the Barney and Clyde bank robbers know this! Not enough dog wardens so the dogs are running free.

This is all politics! Same reason Sylvan writes on here every other week he wants a Minister Post again. Dunkley is going to give him Minister of Community and Cultural affair wait and see.

      • Tick Tock says:

        …or The Ministry of Transportation!!

      • LiarLiar says:

That’s why it is called a ‘guarantee.’ No money changes hands and the Government takes an annual fee.

Just like how the PLP guaranteed $200mn to BNTB.

        • Wake up Bie says:

Hey drone the OBA stressed we had no money after the PLP spent it all.

LIAR LAIR PANTS ON FIRE OBA

          • Sheila says:

Agree 100 percent and they still are

    • sebring says:

u are a fool if you think either or are small business! and an even bigger fool for suggesting they have arms. how would you feel if you worked at a place that got robbed and got hurt in the cross fire cause the fool protecting business started a shoot out! my believe is do not pull a gun out unless you a willing to kill or be killed.

  6. BLIND SHEEP says:

Hummmm. much bigger story here. I am starting to see the big picture. It’s a great plot for those trying to get back

  7. I heart 441 says:

I hope staff are ok and recover from this horrific act of crime, I hope the punks are caught, but I could care less about PEUGEOT Business having less money. PEUGEOTS need to be banned from Bermuda!

    • Sorry Sir says:

      What’s wrong with Peugeots?

      • I heart 441 says:

Buy a Peugeot and go have it serviced at their Service Center, then you will see why many dislike them.

        • sebring says:

poor guys probably just trying to get some money to get their car out of the garage! lol!

        • Spock says:

I’ve had several cars over the years, and Peugeot has given me the best service yet. Their cars only need to be serviced once per year, compared to all other brands that need at least 2 per year. They most always have the parts needed, and when they don’t they fly them in at no extra charge. They only work on one brand, so the techs there know the cars inside-out.

    • observer says:

lol. I take it you dont like Peugeots…

    • Rada Gast says:

How much less could you care?

      • I heart 441 says:

This much….Can you see how much? smh

        • Rada Gast says:

Ah, so you mean you “couldn’t care less”. Glad we cleared that up.

    • Sheila says:

Business is hard as it is please be considerate I’ve had one for years no different from any other trash they sell here all have to be maintained

  8. UmJustSayiing says:

It is only a matter of time before before someone makes a murderer out of a robber. Patients is running very thin.

    • Seriously says:

Probably patience as well. There are plenty of patients at the hospital.

  9. Sorry Sir says:

    Wait.

    Black helmet, black visor.
    White helmet, black visor.

Sounds like the same guys that robbed Gem Cellar.

    • Just saying says:

Yeah that’s what I was thinking. Looks like they need money for something.

  10. lalalalala says:

Unless someone just purchased a car with CASH I can’t see them having much on the premises. Unless someone did just pay cash for a car.. Then the buyer probably knows the robbers!!!

    • I heart 441 says:

      Hahahaha, so true!
Drug dealers getting their money back after buying the car with cash. Seriously though, who buys cars with cash?

    • Say Whaat? says:

They sell car paint as well and do services repairs. There is cash there.

  11. rodney smith says:

To catch them, we must think like them. Someone goes in the stores ahead of time, just to check things out/ sometimes, that same person might be in the store when it goes down. Check everyones cell phones. They are right in front of us, but we don’t know who they are. They use women as part of their team. Now, don’t come knocking on my door, just because I’m telling you how they operate . They are now moving amongst us, acting as surprised as us to what just happened. Are we ready to see a shoot out on our streets? Get Ready.

  12. Jus' Wonderin' says:

    D gem cella bandits lmao

  13. RIP says:

ME THINKS THEY ARE THE SAME GUYS-THEY MUST HAVE CASH TO SPEND NOW- WHOS SPENDING MONEY THEY OTHERWISE WOULDN’T HAVE.

  14. ron,b says:

catch them and cut their hands off

  15. Cliff says:

All no education jobs like labour, cleaners, r given to none BERMUDIANZ and u wounded y all these things taking place, plus the locking ****** up 4 child support and there is no work for them! This is just the start

    • serengeti says:

maybe they apply for jobs. That would be a start.
And if you don’t think you want to pay child support, perhaps it’s a good idea to refrain from having children.

    • whiteroof says:

      Was any of that English..?

      • Keepin' it Real!...4Real! says:

        And they wonder why….smh…

  16. Terry says:

More to this than meets the eye.
North Shore and the routes and escape routes.

    This incident makes no sense.
Like pointing a gun at an ATM.
    Shalom.

  17. Bermy Realist says:

To bad that most of u don’t realize that there is another Bermuda and they are suffering so no jobs means more robberies, that simple. get a clue!

    • I heart 441 says:

Change ya screen name, because there are services provided for those that are suffering, robbing is not one of those services!

    • Terry says:

      Bulls***
As your parents what they did when things were tight.
      Shalom.

    • Come Correct says:

Did you know business give pallets away for free that you can make tons of stuff out of for…free. Then you sell it at 100% profit. It’s called not sitting on tour ass and doing something for yourself.

  18. mmm says:

Will the real politicians who are genuinely concerned about the well-being please ban the use of dark tinted visors immediately, some-one is going to get killed. If we have to place a temporary ban for 90 days, then do that. These armed robbers have to use some type of transportation, its a bit more difficult to use a car as a get away vehicle —thus the motor-cycle. Set up check-points, and use them through-out the Island, if there are five che ck=points between Hamilton Parish and Warwick Parish for a period of two hours….trust me something will come up, there may well be some interestin g developments. If a lawyer stands up and talks about constitutional rights he / she may well be far off to the left in the context of this current crime wave. Where will the money come from for more police officers and possibly overtime, well let,s get some of those government departments out of Washington Mall and where-ever else and into some of these schools they want to close.

  19. DEE says:

    BAN THE DARK VISOR

  20. TGAOTU says:

Bermuda should come to agreement and LEGALLY go forward with the following suggested punishment for them and others like them:

With the public spectating, have their hands chopped off so everyone can cheer that they cannot rob us anymore. Then once their wounds are treated by proper medical officers on the scene and their wounds are safe to proceed, they should be chained up legs and feet in public to steel posts. They should be left there for the sun and rain and wind and rats and birds and roaches to assail them for two or three months. They will be spoonfed fortified cream of wheat or oatmeal as their only source of food, and only be given HOT water to drink. The public should be allowed to ridicule them and belittle them, but PERHAPS not to spit on them or throw food at them. Or perhaps?

I also suggest the ingenious idea: MAKE IT LAW that if you get caught with a gun or bullets (and you are obviously criminally minded or in a crime or gang affiliated) you should be SHOT WITH EVERY ONE OF THE BULLETS YOU HAVE. Police officers will do the shooting and shoot in non-lethal spots of course. So if you wanna have bullets, better make sure its a few or you wont be walking or picking stuff up ever again. Also if you have a gun, you should get shot once for every bullet it holds. If it holds six bullets, you get shot six times. If you ALSO HAD IN IT or IN YOUR POSSESSION 6 more bullets, then you get 12 shots in total. Sounds good, right? WHO IN THEIR RIGHT MIND COULD FIND A FAULT IN THIS OR CALL IT UNJUST? You get shot with your OWN deadly weapon that you wanted to HARM OR KILL others with! Hello! Wake up people and make this law! So that these fools can suffer this and not a slap on the wrist and KFC in prison!
Call in bounty hunters from america!!!!!!!!!!!

Also gang membership should be punishable by five shots, and gang affiliation should be punishable by something less than a shot, but still a sore reminder of what not to do again!

    • rodney smith says:

Now, If we do what you say, WHAT ARE WE GOING TO DO WITH BANKERS, LAWYERS , and ACCOUNTANTS???????????? How many times do they get shot?

  21. TGAOTU says:

You simple folk want to ban dark visors, when the target of this law would be the criminals who rob people with guns. Do you honestly think for a second that such criminals are going to ACTUALLY OBEY THAT STUPID LAW!?!?!?!?!?!

Ooooh lets ban dark visors and make every motorcyclist suffer the High UV rays in our eyes endangering our driving and other motorists. We only have like the highest UV levels on EARTH, averaging like 10 or more frequently.

more sarcasm for ya: You wanna ban dark visors? Ok. Then they will just put on dark hoodies. Or dark scarfs. Or ski masks. Or costume masts. Or BAGS. Or whatever! Jesus Lord have mercy people are so narrow minded!

I got rid of my dark visor two years ago after I heard enough morons start mentioning it. I am a good model citizen. But I knew the dumb dumbs out there would be scowling at me and thinking I am some deviant or criminal due to my visor. So I bowed down to the stupid people. And I suffer without that tint, and the sun blasts my eyes all the time. Now two years later people want to ban them even more. FOR DUMB REASONS. Wanna ban people from wearing sunglasses while driving?

HERE IS A GOOD NUGGET! —> check this one out, you will LOOOVE IT!

You wanna ban dark visors on motorcycle helmets? Ok. So you are banning someone from driving a bike with a tinted visor helmet. What about when they get OFF THEIR BIKE? What if they drive a car with the tinted visor helmet? What about when they walk down the street with a tinted visor helmet on? That cannot be a crime! Wait!? Oh no! It makes no sense! So you are banning an article of clothing? Or you mean you should? But it is a safety device. So you wanna ban a safety device? No, you wanna ban a FEATURE of a safety device! Wow. So confusing and stupid.

Go, go ahead and ban them you simpletons. Then we will all see them wearing scary masks and it will seem like horror movies come to life. Then go thank your intelligent selves.

    • Verly says:

You’re so correct. I think it’s so silly when people say to ban the dark visors. It’s not about that!!!

Maybe we should ban dark clothing and bikes too while we’re at it.

  22. Cranjis McBasketball says:

it amazes me how d police can hide in a bush to catch someone speeding but 99.9% of d time they’re nowhere to be seen when these events take place. And they have that lovely CCTV System setup. Bermudian Police…where are u now that we need u?

  23. Unbelievable says:

Until we stop making excuses for why we don’t have a police presence ANYWHERE these robberies will continue. I don’t understand why we don’t see more patrols. Too much of the budget spent on fancy cars but no one put out there on a continuous consistent basis! Stop with the excuses. We have to start here!

    • Say Whaat? says:

So cut staff but make the little left more visible? Who can be in more places than one but Jah?!?

    • Seriously says:

Fancy cars? The cheapest Jeeps you can buy and some second hand used police cars from the UK. Seriously? They don’t have a single fancy car I can think of.

      • Verly says:

Yes they do, and the top brass change them more frequently than I change my undergarments!!

  24. wahoo says:

We cut costs everywhere but West Gate! F#@% these people, make West Gate a prison instead of a hotel. And anyone who knows these two f@#$s and doesn’t turn them in, shame on you – you are not Bermudian in my book.

    • Ann says:

Thank you! Westgate is free food, great health and dental care, excercise , and it costs US $86000 a year per prisoner. Ship them overseas to a real prison environment and we will save tons. Why do I have to care about prisoners rights?

  25. Oh,I see now says:

a store owner is gonna be the one to say I’m not the one and commit 2nd degree murder then end up in jail shi??y but it’s the law.

    • Real Deal says:

Nah I am sure they know who not to rob.
you don’t see them back of town do you.

  26. Coffee says:

What a useless minister of national security we have .. He needs to be removed . He does nothing . He oways has plenty to say about crime in Bermuda . When he was in opposition he had plenty of remedies for crimes of this nature . Now that he collects the check , his head is totally empty of ideas .

Fire him and the sidekick …

The people who commit these cowardly armed robberies are equally as useless , they must be stopped .

    • on-looker says:

whilst he was opposition, his idea was to increase the police budget so that they could effectively do what was needed.

As the National security minister, his idea is to decrease the police budget and get rid of 100′s of the officers we had.

Yet people still ask why they don’t see police around

    • Keepin' it Real!...4Real! says:

Yeah …kick him out so we can give you the job…you ready to go round up your criminally minded people..?

  27. Tom Cooke says:

Is it just me… but why rob a car dealership… really.. no one buys a car in cash… or do they…Mmmmm.

    • Verly says:

They sell paint and accessories as well.

  28. Zoe says:

I recall the moto “vote OBA for jobs” smfh, but OBA has a freeze on hiring. People need jobs and in certain departments in Government there is a shortage in staff, but they will not hire! Lift the freeze off of hiring and give people jobs.

    • Ann says:

I won’t disagree that some departments of civil service are lean, but the issue is the people on there a$$ on the top floors, we need to cut them, and sorry take away the 100 sick days and 5 month vacation, the real working world receive nothing in comparision, but yet the civil servant is taken advantage of!,,,,,

  29. um just saying says:

Just an idea, but businesses should install silent alarms, if there are any on the island. It might make a difference in apprehending the offenders sooner. Also amend the laws in order for business owners to carry items to protect themselves. I am not talking about firearms, but mace, or dye spray, maybe even tasers, with the proper training of course. I feel that if you work hard to obtain and maintain a business who gives these lazy punks the right to take what dont belong to them? It annoys me, the sense of entitlement some of our Bermudians have, but they have done nothing with their own lives, to deserve to just take. GO GET AN EDUCATION, SO YOU CAN GET A JOB, WORK HARD, AND MAYBE YOU CAN HAVE THE FINER THINGS IN LIFE!

    • Real Deal says:

Only thing is if you use that stuff you must be wiling to put your life on the line.

That the bottom line. are you willing to put your life on the line.

if people were willing to I am sure they would not need any of the stuff you listed.

  30. sturgis isaac says:

foreign cops can’t seem to solve local crime. Oh wow big surprise

  31. Seriously says:

If anyone bought a car with cash I think they have to report it now under the compliance laws, Unlike years ago when I know for a fact a certain dealer sold a car to someone with a trash bag full of used small notes. It was reported but nothing happened.

    • Triangle Drifter says:

Bought with cash in small notes. What crime has been committed? Suspicious, yes, but what are the cops supposed to do?

  32. Sara says:

It’s time for all businesses to up their security game.

  33. Keepin' it Real!...4Real! says:

Taking things that don’t belong to you is theft…It is unlawful…why are we still pussyfooting around…SOMEONE is GONNA get killed.

I think the reason why people despise a thief is because they take your s**t and rarely get caught…so of course once we get one we want to punish them severly for ALL their past deeds…euthanasia not ruled out.
