Minister Visits Community Nursing Health Check

Minister of Health, Kim Wilson, visited the “Taking it to the Streets” free health check held at Maximart in Sandys. The nurses will be at Maximart until 8:00 pm tonight, 28 July.

The free testing of blood sugar, blood pressure, weight, a cardiac risk profile assessment and other is available to those over 18 years of age, at Maximart, 42 Middle Road, Sandys. The first “Taking it to the Streets” health check held at Woody’s in Sandys on 18 July found that one in four adults assessed needed follow up.

There are three more health checks coming up, all from 4:00 pm to 8:00 pm:

  • Albuoy’s Point: 18 August
  • Dr. E.F. Gordon Square: 1 September
  • St. George Square: 22 September

This health assessment is brought to the public by the Department of Health Community Nursing Team, in collaboration with the Adventist Community Services and Bermuda Wellness and Outreach Centre.
