Cricket: Malaysia Defeat Bermuda By 89 Runs

Due to the importance of the game, officials of the ICC World Cricket League Division 4 announced the Malaysia – Bermuda game would be re-played due to the rain halting the first match, with the replay resulting in Malaysia defeating Bermuda by 89 runs, and Bermuda being relegated to Division 5.

Malaysia won the toss and elected to bat they scored 257/8 in their allotted 50 overs, Anwar Arudin was the top Malaysia scorer with 60, Janeiro Tucker was the pick of the Bermuda bowlers with figures of 10-0-34-3, while Chare Smith bowled 7-1-42-3.

In reply Bermuda fell 93 runs short of their target, thus sending them to Division 5. Bermuda recovered from 37/6 when former captain Tucker and Kamau Leverock put on a 97 run 7th wicket partnership , Leverock was the teams top scorer with 61 from 111 balls he hit 2 fours and 5 sixes in his knock, while Tucker added 55 off 81 he hit 3 fours and 3 sixes. Muhammad Wafiq was the pick of the Malaysia bowlers with figures of 10-1-35-3.

    Time to stop throwing money away it is past time to be diverting money from the bunch of losers that Bermuda cricket is to sports that are producing winners. It is also time to spend some of it on female sports
