‘Saddened By Passing Of President Bush’

The U.S. Consulate in Bermuda joined those around the world in sending their condolences on the passing of President George H.W. Bush.

President Bush, the 41st President of the United States and patriarch of a political dynasty, died on Friday in Houston at age 94.

The US Consulate tweeted the photo below, saying: “U.S. Consul General Dierman and the Consulate General are saddened by the passing of President George H.W. Bush – a true public servant and statesman.

“In 1990 President George H.W. Bush visited Bermuda along with Prime Minister Margaret Thatcher during a summit conference.”

Former Premier Michael Dunkley also tweeted his condolences, saying: “I was blessed to meet him when he came to Bermuda years ago. I echo the words of President Obama ‘America has lost a patriot and humble servant.’ Bermuda has lost a good friend. RIP Mr. President,” Mr Dunkley tweeted.
