The ‘Thor Heyerdahl’ tall ship is visiting the island, with the German-flagged training ship currently docked in St George’s.

Their website notes, “This triple-masted Topsail-schooner, with an overall length of 50 metres, offers room on board for 32 students and young adults. We aim to bring young people in the age group 15 – 25 years and from all social classes together.”

On behalf of the people of Bermuda may I extent to the Captain, Crew and Students a hearty welcome to our island home.

We hope you will have a pleasant and enjoyable stay and a safe return to your native land if you so desire.
We admire your courage and fortitude.

We mourn for all those who did not return and were lost at sea.
