Review: Friday Happy Hour At Hamilton Princess

Happy Hour on a Friday is always a good idea. But when you throw in a live band, fabulous food and drink and a waterside venue, it’s perfection.
Hamilton Princess has kicked off Marina Nights, it’s weekly Friday happy hour with a special theme this month. The famed happy hour spot will be celebrating Pink Month in June with special cocktails, champagnes and wine during the month.
Beresford Pink Gin, Moet Chandon Rosé Champagne and a selection of rosé wines will be available every single Friday evening this month.
June 28 is a special ladies’ night with Marcus Samuelsson and the first 50 ladies will receive a free piccolo of Moet Rosé – my favourite champagne. There will also be a fashion show by Tanju and a taco station.
My girlfriend’s and I were invited to sample the new happy hour and I’m pleased to say we loved it! We were offered VIP seating on the marina, which was fantastic. Most happy hours and standing situations so it was lovely be able to sit down and listen to the music.
Speaking of which, I have no idea how Hamilton Princess poached Big Chill from Elbow Beach, but well done! I’ve been a fan of the band for years especially since Jesse Seymour joined. They performed a variety of music that was a hit with the crowd.
The combination of Jesse on lead vocals, Tony on the guitar and DJ Felix spinning the tunes works really well. They really are a great addition to Marina Nights, which previously only had DJs playing music.
Another great addition this year is food! There’s also a happy hour food menu with delicious nachos, flatbreads, fish tacos, crispy shrimp and more. So if you can swing VIP, it’s definitely worth it to be able to sit, enjoy the drinks, food and the music.
I happily sipped champagne while nibbling on nachos and eating a fish taco or two. The ambiance was were relaxing and a perfect way to kick off the weekend. And if you don’t just want to sit around, you can hit the selfie station to take a few photos or dance to the music.
