Automated Payment At King Street Car Park

January 23, 2020

Work has been completed on the newly installed barrier system in the King Street Car Park, and the car park is scheduled to come online for automated payment this Monday [Jan 27].

A spokesperson said, “The City of Hamilton advises that work has been completed on the newly installed barrier system in the King Street Car Park.

“The car park is scheduled to come online for automated payment on Monday, January 27th, 2020.

“Motorists are reminded that the King Street Car Park is an all-day lot, with paid parking, at $2 per hour, Monday to Saturday, 8:00am – 6:00pm.

“As with the other barrier systems around the City, motorists must collect a ticket upon entry, scan their ticket and pay the requested fee at a paystation when they return to their vehicle, then proceed to the exit barrier where they will once again scan their validated ticket for exit.”

Great but when is the corporation going to do something about the car park opposite the Supermart? It is almost impossible to find a parking spot there during the week, very few of the cars parked there have paid and many are there for hours if not all day.
I have never seen a warden in that car park, has the corporation reached some sort of deal with the traders opposite to turn a blind eye to their employees parking there for work?
I have abandoned trips to that grocery store on many occasions now because I have not been able to find a spot.

Totally agree with ‘gingered’. Love Supermart! Sadly parking woes take my business elsewhere. Improvement certainly possible, but expansion?

And what about that lot next to Island Trading? There is one woman in particular who has used that lot as all week parking! Time to crack down on abuse!

Finally! This means my ex wife now has to pay for parking! Karma is great!
