Carnival Increases Bermuda Cruises For 2011

May 6, 2010

carnival cruises lineCarnival Cruise Lines, the world’s largest cruise operator, will dramatically expand its Bermuda cruise schedule in 2011, offering 16 departures to the island from four popular eastern U.S. homeports — Baltimore, Norfolk, Va.; New York and, for the first time, Charleston, S.C. Carnival will be the only cruise line offering Bermuda cruises from Charleston.

The 16 Bermuda voyages, the most the line has ever offered, will encompass a variety of six, seven and eight-day cruises from April through November. It is the highest amount of cruises that Carnival has ever offering on an annual basis to Bermuda.

All 16 voyages will dock at King’s Wharf,  with six-day voyages will offer two-day calls at King’s Wharf while seven- and eight-day cruises will feature three-day visits.

Gerry Cahill, Carnival president and CEO said:

Bermuda is one of the world’s most desirable cruise destinations, and offering three different cruise lengths from four East Coast homeports provides our guests an unprecedented variety of choices for visiting this beautiful island paradise

Carnival’s 2011 Bermuda departures include:

  • Baltimore (seven-day cruises) – April 10 and 17, Sept. 18, Oct. 2 and Nov. 6
  • New York (seven and eight-day) – April 14 and 21, and Sept. 11 and 27
  • Norfolk (six-day) – Oct. 16
  • Charleston, S.C. (six-day) – April 23, May 19, June 16, Aug. 25, Sept. 15 and Oct. 6

Reservations are currently open for the six Charleston departures with the line’s other Bermuda cruises expected to be open over the next few weeks.

Premier and Minister of Tourism Dr Ewart Brown said:

The announcement by Carnival Cruise Lines to deploy 16 cruises to Bermuda in 2011 is part of our strategy to diversify our cruise product. We have been meeting with Carnival Corporation and Carnival Cruise Lines for some months to increase the number of cruises to Bermuda, in particular from Charleston, Baltimore and Norfolk. I am pleased that Carnival has responded to our requests.

Also in 2011, Aida Cruises, catering primarily to German-speaking guests and the Queen Victoria will each call on Bermuda on a few occasions.

“Kings Wharf” ? What happened to St. George, Hamilton.

I know sometimes they have elephants at carnavl’s. Something is untoward here. Millions and millions of dollars spent, paid to certain members of the community with association with the PLP.

It’s not that it’s an ill thought out plan regarding cruise ships but then again is it?

Veendam achors at Murry’s anchorage. First trip, can’t even get tourists into St. George by tender. Weather. But as you know weather plays a part but even more when using tenders.

Looks like the Kings ships are comming into port and all those associated will be so blessed.

    Poor Kenny and Mayor Gibbons.

Well, look at it this way. It started in the East, then went Central. Now lets see how the sun sets in the West.

I’m not feeling very good right now and actually feel betrayed by persons of greed. But as they say…power too the people……Are there any left?
