  1. Puzzled says:

There should be a fitness requirement for Police officers, reserve or not.

    • cygnet says:

Be quiet about fitness level. Why dont you apply and see if pass the inteligence test first??? Congratulations- Moms is proud of all of you.

    • Just saying.... says:

There is a fitness requirement for all officers so clearly these new officers can run as fast as your mouth runs with no thought process behind it as they have completed their training. Instead of offering your tarnished two cent opinion, go get some knowledge first before you speak.

  2. Mermaid says:

    Congratulations to the new officers,
But I have the same concerns as the above mentioned. FITNESS, because when I first looked at the photo, no disrespect but it is very noticeable due to the situations the police are dealing with now. It seems that this generation is runners, whether on foot or vehicles. No disrespect but the facts are right in front of our eyes.

Good luck & I hope you don’t have to go thru the chasing process until you have had enough experience to help you along with this challenge. MAY JAH BE YOUR GUIDE

    • Don't judge a book by it's cover says:

You seem to think that it is obvious by what you notice that these officers are not fit. However don’t judge a book by it’s cover. Those recruits have to do the same training as regular officers including an intelligence test. I know for a fact that there are many who are LESS noticeably fit that did not pass the test. As for the running after crimninals all officers have to decide if it is in their best interest whether they are marathon runners or not to chase criminals especially in areas of the unknown. With all the guns and weapons that criminals are using they have to be wise, hence intelligence is involved. These recruits as stated before are putting their lives and the lives of their families on the line, so koodos for them for deciding to give back in such a time as this.

  3. Triangle Drifter says:

Yes, wouldn’t it be nice if they were all olympic hopefuls, but they are not. They are regular people with fulltime jobs who are doing something extra for their community.

    Congratulations to all.

    • Mermaid says:

I understand that, but things happen and in that field I find fitness is vital asset. Just like they say: accidents do happen and nobody plans them. Things happen!!

  4. Mountbatten says:

    See you at the TOP….

  5. Federico Pastor says:

We all have the right for an opinion. Congratulations to these citizens, regular civilians who want to return some of the benefits of the society where they and their families live to assist other citizens and members of their comunitites. As far a fitness it might appear that few not all, don’t look like marathon runners, if any; but I know for sure that at least one of them is a soccer player and currently the coach for the Onions Flanagan. God help them and Bermuda as a highly respectable country.
