64-Yr-Old Man Charged: Sex Offences Against Girl
In Magistrates Court this morning [Aug 22] a 64-year-old man — who cannot be named for legal reasons — faced six charges of sexual assault of a girl who was under the age of 16 at the time. The six charges arose from allegations of unlawfully touching and of having unlawful carnal knowledge.
The allegations were that the offences occurred between 1st November 2000 and 31st December 2008. The man, represented by lawyer Saul Froomkin QC, was released on $25,000 bail with one like surety. He was ordered to not interfere with the complainant, other witnesses, or with the process now in progress.
As the matter can only be heard in the Supreme Court, he was not required to enter a plea.

4 years old? Seriously this makes me sick! What makes it worse is that if convicted he’ll probably only do 2 or so years in prison, if that. He won’t be named either and get released and go on his merry little way.
He’s 64 so I doubt this is his first time allegedly doing this disgusting act either. This is why so many people are walking around angry and damaged because of nasty men like this.
Most of the time the person is named if convicted. The exception is if naming the alleged perpetrator would identify the victim-e.g. if his victim was his child or another relative.

My question is, why are these alleged pervs being protected?? I personally know 2 of them and just the sight of them make me sick! One I think regrets what he has done (too late) while the other undresses females with his eyes and make sick comments! It’s not the alleged Perverts that they’re trying to protect by not releasing the names it’s the victims. We all know Bermuda is a small community release his name and it is easy for people to put two and two together. Also I am all for Castration.
Once convicted, they usually don’t release the name if the child has been molested by a relative, as this would identify the child. If they said ‘John Doe’ of ‘address so-and-so’ was found guilty of molesting his four-year-old daughter, whoever knows John Doe would know who the victim is. If the child was molested by a stranger, neighbour, teacher or even a family friend, he could be identified as it wouldn’t identify the child-although people could speculate, they wouldn’t know for sure.
I’m sorry to say but, once convicted, I think it’s time for the supporters of justice amongst us to take matters into their own hands. The government isn’t going to do anything about this pervasive problem (oh yes… it happens ‘so much more’ than ever makes the papers) and so I suggest that ‘we’, the people, send a message as to what can be done ‘for’ the people and ‘by’ the people!
You can’t have it both ways!! Vigilanty justice is the reason we have all the shootings… They need stiffer penalties.. Ws worse somebody buying herb or somebody forcing you against your will causing pain.. Emotional n or physical

whoever said the child in question was 4 when it allegedly started must know more about this case than is reported. At the very least, if the child was under 16 and it allegedly went on for 8 years, the child would have been no more than 8. So very, very damaging! I hope the parents and the child are receiving some psychological care, as this negatively impacts all, especially if the alleged perpetrator is a trusted friend or member of the family, as I know only too well.
In addition, the likelihood that this is allegedly not his first victim goes without saying. At 64, he has probably been allegedly busy for the past 40 years or more. One can only speculate with sorrow how many other alleged victims there have been who have been either too intimidated or ashamed (since our society is still so judgemental toward the victims) to report this man.
At least, if this man is convicted, I believe at that time he can be named.

To go and get himself the best lawyer he must be hoping Mr. Froomkin can get him off. I hope the judge locks him up for the rest of his life. I know of a few women personally who have warned other women about the man they have living with them/dating them and the fact that he molested them from the day their mother brought him home. The mothers have told the women to stop causing trouble/lying/are jealous because the man is no longer with their mother etc and refuse to believe or accept that this man is a peodophile! It only stopped (after years of abuse) once the girls were to old for his taste and he left the mother for another woman and her child(ren)!!! And YES these women did tell their mothers who either overlooked it or didn’t believe them for one reason or another.

Sounds like a grandfather? The article states that the abuse began in 2000, making her 4 years old, and accessible to him often. I could vomit. He should NEVER see the light of day again. Out on bail? To do WHAT, exactly?
Disgusting. If he is indeed guilty,I hope he is sent to jail for a very long time & that his victim receives suitable counseling in order to go on with her life. Needless to say, this should be a warning to all be very careful whom you let into your lives especially when you have children!
It would be right for the man to be named, in order to protect society from him, however, this would then reveal the identity of the young person who was allegedly interfered with. I say release him to the hounds and then pull off his nails one by one. I hope his fellow prisoners find out what he has allegedly done and punish him accordingly! Disgusting and unforgivable.
