Spirit of Bermuda Diverts, Sick Crew Member

On Tuesday [Aug 28] the local sail training vessel Spirit of Bermuda was 45 nautical miles south of Bermuda when they contacted Bermuda Radio by VHF reporting a crew member suffering a severe asthmatic attack.

A Bermuda Radio spokesperson said: “Following local medical advice the Spirit of Bermuda made best speed back to the Sea Buoy to rendevouz with the pilot boat St David.

“At 1:15am Wednesday morning the pilot boat arrived back at Ordnance Island. The 20 year old male patient was transferred by ambulance to King Edward VII Memorial Hospital.”
