Campaign Hits Romney On Bermuda Again
President Barack Obama’s campaign continues to target Republican Presidential nominee Mitt Romney for his Bermuda company, this time including a Bermuda mention in a recent ad about Mr Romney’s much reported “47 percent of Americans” comments.
The 30-second ad opens with the surreptitiously videotaped remarks of Mr Romney at a fundraising dinner in Florida, where he made the now infamous comment: “My job is not to worry about those people.” The campaign ad was released on YouTube two days ago, and will also airing in the swing state of Ohio.
The video narrator in the campaign ad said he “Mitt Romney paid just 14.1 percent in taxes last year. He keeps millions in Bermuda and the Cayman Islands. He won’t release his tax returns before 2010.”
Mr Romney — who is estimated to be worth over $250 million — has been repeatedly attacked by Democrats for keeping money offshore.
Bermuda-based Sankaty High Yield Asset Investors Ltd is one of Mr Romney’s holdings, and was transferred to his wife Ann’s name one day before he was sworn in as the Massachusetts Governor in 2003.
The 2012 U.S presidential election will be held on November 6, 2012. Incumbent President Barack Obama is running for a second term against Mr Romney.

Somebody needs to give Team Obama a clue. One of Obama’s biggest supporters, George Soros, has umpteen companies here and elsewhere… what about THAT? If the US wasn’t such an effed up place to actually DO business (you can thank your unions) and your tax structure was simpler, places like Bermuda would not be attractive to the Soroses and Romneys. Typical U.S. politics… always blame some other country who is actually just getting on with their own business.
You have no clue..
Just how many offshore companies does Kerry’s wife own? The Democrats didn’t seem to be a problem with that when he was running for office.
