Capital G Card Use In International Locales

June 4, 2013

Some Capital G customers may be experiencing issues with the use of their Capital G cards overseas, and Capital G said they are aggressively working with their U.S. vendor to resolve the issue.

Capital G Chief Banking Officer, Bob Wilson, said: “We are aware that some Capital G customers requesting cash withdrawals from international ATMs or attempting point of sale transactions abroad may currently be experiencing issues with the use of their Capital G credit and debit cards.

“This is a technical issue that results in customer’s accounts being debited without the funds being dispensed, or purchase transaction completed. Although the system issue is beyond our direct control, we are aggressively working with our U.S. vendor to resolve as quickly as possible.

“We apologize to our customers for any inconvenience this has caused and will work with customers who have genuine disputes to resolve expeditiously. Customers who have been directly impacted are encouraged to contact the Capital G Call Centre on 441-296-6969 to begin the resolution process. Thank you.”

Update 4.59pm: The company has clarified that the current transaction issue is regarding Capital G debit cards only – credit card transactions are not being impacted.

Yup happened to two family members traveling – had to send more money at my expense cause they couldn’t use their card for cash withdrawals!! Been a week and a half already and no progress! They say it will take up to 18 weeks (yes 4 1/2 months) to get your money back! Totally unacceptable CapG. You know you have issues give people their money back!!

The gombeys got more attention than Nahki. Poor boy he just walked off into the distance. Maybe we could have had him sign autographs for the youngster or something. Those of us in the stands could not hear a word being said by the Premier.

Come on Bermuda we can do better for one of our young legends.
