Laffan Street Temporarily Closed To All Traffic

The City of Hamilton today [Aug 26] announced that due to the heavy rainfall over the weekend and the road works currently underway, Laffan Street has been closed to all traffic.

A spokesperson said, “Traffic will not be able to turn onto Canal Road at Woodlands Road. The Canal Road and Laffan Street intersection will remain open for westbound traffic. Vehicles will not be able to turn onto Laffan Street from Canal Road.

“Additionally, the Elliott and Washington Streets intersection has been closed. Motorists going to businesses and residences in the area will be given access. It is anticipated the road will reopen by Wednesday [Aug 28]. The City of Hamilton apologies for any inconvenience caused by this closure.”
