Police Assist Search In Weekend Flare Sighting
A call for assistance was made by Bermuda Harbour Radio on Saturday [Sept 14] after a flare was set off close to the Western [Hogfish] small boat channel. A witness at the scene reported seeing a vessel in the area but believes that it may have been towed way by another vessel.
A Bermuda Harbour Radio spokesperson said, “On Saturday 14th Sept, a flare was set off close to the Western small boat channel.
“Police land units were dispatched to try and ascertain if there was a vessel in distress and broadcasts are made on Channel 16 for assistance. Witness`on the scene reported that one vessel was in the area and may have been towed away by another; no further reports are received.”
