Hotel Association CEO John Harvey To Retire
John Harvey, Chief Executive Officer of both the Bermuda Hotel Association [BHA] and the Hotel Employers of Bermuda [HEB] will be retiring. This will be effective at the next BHA Annual General meeting in July 2014.
Chairman & Acting President of the BHA J. P. Martens said: “John Harvey has given loyal, professional and outstanding service to both organizations for the past 36 years and his guidance, vision and leadership will be missed.
“During the interim, John will continue to assist us with current BHA challenges including, if necessary the restructuring of our organization.”
Mr. John Harvey said, “I have had a great time with both the BHA and the HEB over the last 36 years, especially my direct involvement and relationship with several Premiers, Ministers of Tourism, Labour & Home Affairs and Finance.
“I am also grateful for working with our social partners, the Bermuda Industrial Union and together in the last fifteen years we have established trust, respect and a stable and harmonious industrial environment in Bermuda’s hotel industry.
“I am grateful for having had this opportunity to serve the hotels and by extension Bermuda during some very difficult and challenging times.”
