Flora Duffy Finishes 20th in ITU Championship
Bermuda’s Flora Duffy competed in the 2014 ITU World Championship Grand Final in Canada, placing 20th in the world class field in a time of 2:03:09.
Some 100,000 spectators are reported to have come out to watch the event, which was won by American Gwen Jorgensen in a time of 2:00:05, while New Zealand took the second and third spots, with Andrea Hewitt crossing the line in 2:00:21, and Nicky Samuels placing third in 2:00:31.
Flora Duffy — the island’s top female triathlete — finished 20th clocking a time of 2:03:09. Duffy clocked a time of 19:14 during the swim, she then recorded a time of 1:05:50 on the bike and then closed out with a 36:26 during the run course.
