Red Cross To Present ‘Fifty Shades Of Grey’
The Bermuda Red Cross is getting set to present two showings of the film ‘Fifty Shades of Grey,’ starring Dakota Johnson and Jamie Dornan, on February 13, 2015, including a pre-party complete with drinks and snacks.
The showings will be at 6.30pm and 9.30pm, with the pre-party to take place from 5.00pm through 7.30pm; all activities will take place at “Christian’s Private Office” on the first floor of Craig Appin House at 8 Wesley Street in Hamilton.
The event flyer says, “Support Bermuda Red Cross and enjoy a fun evening out. There are two movie times, 6.30pm and 9.30pm, and the pre-party is from 5.00pm to 7.30pm at “Christian’s Private Office”, on the first floor of the Craig Appin House, 8 Wesley Street, Hamilton.”
“Tickets are $50 per person, which includes the pre-party with drinks, nibbles, and the movie. Tickets can be purchased by calling 236-8253, extension 223.”
The event is sponsored by Specialty Cinema and Grill, City Centre Properties, and Eve’s Garden.
The film’s synopsis says, “When Anastasia Steele, a literature student, goes to interview the wealthy Christian Grey, as a favor to her roommate Kate Kavanagh, she encounters a beautiful, brilliant and intimidating man.”

One can only hope the movie is nothing whatsoever like the book.
Be prepared if you get the un-censored version!! Some scenes could be called pornographic!!
I completely understand the fund raising effort here, but it seems odd for this particular movie to be associated with the Red Cross

considering how prudish and closed minded Bermudians are…
I did NOT think that “prudish” BDA would allow this movie to be viewed – especially in support of a charity like the BDA Red Cross!! I wonder if you are going to get the “censored” version!!
If you get the un-censored version – then I imagine some people are going to be quite offended!!
