PLP Sandys Branches To Host Clean Up
The Progressive Labour Party Sandys Branches [Constituencies 32, 33, 34, 35 and 36] will be conducting a Community Clean-Up Day at the Packwood Home this Saturday, July 11th starting at 7am for an 8am start.
MPs Michael Scott, Dennis Lister, Kim Wilson and Jamahl Simmons and a team of volunteers from the PLP will be involved in beautifying the historic facility and grounds at Packwood Home.
Sandy’s North Central MP Dennis Lister remarked,”It has been said that one can tell a lot about a country by the way it treats its youth and its seniors. For our annual Community Clean-Up we wanted to give back to our seniors in a meaningful way, to thank them for all that they have given to Bermuda.
“The Packwood Home, their management and staff do an outstanding job of caring for our seniors and we wanted to contribute in making their jobs easier and the lives of our seniors at that facility even better,”
Sandy’s South MP Jamahl Simmons added,”I am appreciative to my Parliamentary colleagues and our volunteers for choosing Packwood Home as the venue for our Clean-Up Day.
“Alongside Somerset Bridge and Fort Scaur, Packwood Home is an important part of Sandy’s South and we welcome the opportunity to come together and give back to our seniors. We invite the Sandy’s community and all who wish to help, to join us this Saturday starting at 7am,”
