Court: Cannabis, Cocaine, Heroin, Cash Charges
A man and a woman both denied multiple charges alleging drug offences, with 29-year-old Ms Dhubreka Evans of Devonshire and 37-year-old Kenneth Boyles of St George’s both pleading not guilty.
Ms Evans pleaded not guilty to possessing cannabis intended for supply; cocaine intended for supply; diamorphine intended for supply; and drug equipment in the form of an electronic scale, a straw, and a razor that were intended for use with illegal substances.
All four allegations were said to have occurred on 19th November 2014.
The Crown Prosecutor told Magistrate Khamisi Tokunbo that the amounts were alleged to be, 132.44 grams of cannabis, 3.44 grams of cocaine, and 7.01 grams of diamorphine [heroin].
Mr Boyles pleaded not guilty to between a date unknown and 19th November 2014, being in possession of $29,617 in cash whilst knowing it to be the proceeds of criminal activity; and handling diamorphine [heroin] that was intended for supply.
Both accused elected to be tried in Magistrate’s Court and both were given a trial date of 25th November.
Each was granted bail at $15,000 with each required to provide a surety; required to surrender their travel documents; and ordered to not leave Bermuda without the Court’s permission. In addition each was to report three times a week to Police Stations.
