Sunday October 11th: “Good News” Spotlight
News that swimmer Lisa Blackburn broke the Masters World Record, Bermuda College signed an articulation agreement with the Savannah College of Art and Design, Bermuda basketball players Kieron Burgess and Caelin Peters earned full college scholarships, and Bermudian model Lillian Lightbourn being featured in ELLE UK were all some of the positive news stories from the past week.
Other good news stories included the first October Lights taking place on Front Street, Johnny Barnes receiving a doll made in his image,, Devwah Whaley being named an American football Player of the Week, and Rai Simons scoring for Chesterfield.
In addition, Marsh and Guy Carpenter donated $15,000 to three local charities, Bermudian Rodney Smith is offering free lawn mowing services and Tyler Butterfield finished 5th at the Ironman World Championships in Hawaii.
