Atletico Win 2016 Men’s Futsal League Title
A men’s futsal league double header inside the Bermuda College Gymnasium produced 26 goals on the night.
In the first game, Simplemente Futsal won over the more youthful C-Side Freestylers. In the first half, Simplemente jumped out to a commanding lead scoring 4 goals to C-Side’s 1.
Fans were treated to a flood of goals in the second-half as both teams scored 7 goals each and at the end Simplemente was victorious by a score of 11 – 8 over C-Side. Clay Darrell was outstanding for Simplemente scoring 5 goals, with Travis Boyles MVP for C-Side with 4 goals.
In the second game, undefeated Atletico CP just managed to edge out a win at the end of the game against a vastly improved Talent FC. In a close matched game Atletico held a slight lead at half-time, leading by a score of 2 – 1 over Talent.
Both teams scored 2 goals each in the second-half, with Atletico scoring the winning goal right at the last few minutes of the game. Both goal keepers Dashun Cooper [Atletico] and Andrew Lee [Talent], were deserving MVP’s for their respective teams.
With the win, Atletico CP is the 2016 Inaugural Men’s Futsal League Champions, remaining undefeated.
