Sun Life International Relocate To Church Street
Sun Life Financial International has relocated its Bermuda business to new office space at Washington House, 16 Church Street, above the Washington Mall.
“The space has been fully renovated and features state-of-the art digital connectivity, including videoconference that supports the Bermuda team’s communication across the globe,” the company said.
“The design and construction of the space incorporates many features of environmental sustainability, including LED lighting and occupancy sensors as well as the use of recycled denim and other materials to soundproof the walls.
“Sun Life worked with the landlord to repurpose materials such as cables, window blinds, panels and shelving to avoid unnecessary waste.
“Further, as part of the move, Sun Life donated more than 60 pieces of office furniture to Bermuda College, Atlantic Vision Care, The Family Learning Centre, Citizens Uprooting Racism in Bermuda and the TNT Tatem Middle School. These donations are estimated at more than $10,000 and divert approximately one ton from landfill.
“The office space utilises Sun Life’s BrightWork design methods, which creates shared workspace to foster communication, teamwork and creativity. It also is highly modular with moveable walls that provide flexibility and allows for the workspace to efficiently support multiple uses, as needed.
“In addition, every work station and office is equipped with height adjustable workstations that allow employees to change their posture throughout the day to ensure maximum comfort for all employees.”
“Our new workplace offers our team a bright, sunny space that is conducive to the transparent, positive environment that we strive to achieve for our employees,” said Niall O’Hare, VP & CFO, Sun Life Financial International. “We are excited to be in a modern, environmentally friendly office that remains centrally located in Hamilton’s business centre.”
Sun Life Financial’s presence in Bermuda dates back to 1881 and the company established its Bermuda-based business, Sun Life Financial International, in 1996.
