News that the Fairmont Southampton celebrated Herbie Bascome’s 50 years of service, ‘The Pearls of Malabar’ film crew helped a turtle that was tangled in fishing line, Christina Joynes was awarded the Gil Tucker Scholarship, and 14-year-old Andreaz Glasgow launched a ‘taste testing’ business were all some of the positive news stories from the past week.
In additional good news, Kenny Leseur Jr finished third on the Southeastern Junior Golf Tour event in Mississippi, Dennis Williams was named Cricket Player of the Week, Bermuda won multiple games at the World Lacrosse Championships in Israel, and Chatmore British International School students donated to Windreach
Other good news stories included the Generation Next Youth Movement Series featuring Ryan Robinson Perinchief, The Reefs being named one of Top 25 Resort Hotels, the Dr. Barbara Ball Public Health Scholarships being awarded, Reggie Lambe scoring twice in a Cambridge victory, and Sean Trott winning the Sun Olympic Park 10K in the United Kingdom.
