Police Confirm Man Dies Following Collision
[Updated] Emergency services responded to a collision this afternoon [Oct 8], located on North Shore Road in Devonshire at the Barkers Hill roundabout, with the collision involving a motorcyclist and water truck.
A police spokesperson said, “Police and first responders attended a report of a Road Traffic Collision that took place on North Shore Road in Devonshire right at the Barkers Hill roundabout at 5:33pm today [Monday]
“Details are still emerging but it appears that a male on a motorcycle collided with a water truck. The male was conveyed to the hospital via ambulance where he is listed in critical condition.
“The area has been cordoned off while the relevant officers process the scene. Any witnesses to this collision is asked to contact police on 295-0011.”
Update 9.30pm: A police spokesperson said, “Police can confirm the death of a 49-year-old man who died as a result of a road traffic collision that took place on North Shore Road and Barkers Hill round-about at 5:33pm tonight [Monday].
“An investigation into the incident is now underway and no other information will be forth coming until the next of kin has been notified.”
